Balancing modern and traditional living

It's difficult to hoose because they â€Å"wanna be a part of one world cause it's all shiny and fast but afraid to let go of the other world that's slower and more familiar. â€Å"(pg. 4). This new world, it's fast paced, technologically advanced and overwhelming and it's exceptionally diverse from the peace and calm of life on the reserve. Back then, books were the major source of information, and when the only books written are by white-men who only are one viewpoint of many in the world, things can get pretty one-sided and it's hard to know what's actually an accurate source of truthful information. Manda Van Os Balancing modern and traditional living By mandavanos ï » ¿Balancing Modern and Traditional Living Balance is an important factor in every life. It’s essential to maintain the control and calm while also experiencing the highs and lows. In Keeper ‘N Me by Richard Wagamese, the protagonist, Garnet Raven, is struggling to figure out his identity knowing that his skin is brown but not understanding how to be â€Å"Indyunn† as he was brought up â€Å"†¦in all-white homes, going to all-white schools [and] playing with all-white kids†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Technology and material items of this new, fast paced life along with media that promotes Indians negatively and the pressure of making your existence count by working so much you have no time to actually enjoy life and all of its values are some of the reasons that balance is even more essential now than ever. The attraction of modern and ‘shiny’ things, as Keeper says, that pull people away from traditional practices and values are indeed, extremely persuasive. It’s difficult to choose because they â€Å"wanna be a part of one world cause it’s all shiny and fast but afraid to let go of the other world that’s slower and more familiar.†. Reaction Paper in Top Secret Essay

At the age of 16, what are you doing at this age? Ordinary teenagers at this age used to go to school particularly high school, and enjoy their teenage years. Aside from this routine, teenagers may earn money by different stuffs around them. Most of the teenagers enjoy playing online computer games as for now. And who knows you can use this stuff to earn money and lead your first step to become a successful entrepreneur or I should say technopreneur. Like Ittipat who is now a successful businessman. I just can’t imagine how these young people became successful in their life in a simple way like using technology. Ittipat made his first step when someone offer the money to buy the equipment of the online game he was addicted. Of course that way is illegal but he does not think the risk about that. Maybe this is the starter for Top to think about the business. But likes the other gamer addictive he forget his duty as a student, always playing game every day. Because of that he always get low score in his school and he didnt make up to enter state university of Thailand. Until his account became unable to use because of the transaction that he did in the game. And one day when he bought some DVD units but he was cheated by the seller of the DVD. But he didn’t give up. He try other business and like the other successful businessman, he went through many struggles in life like his family go to Shanghai because of the debt in bank, broke up with her girlfriend and many more. But he keeps trying to reach success. And when he start his own business on fried chestnuts and he is earning the management prohibited him because of the smoke that is from his roasting machine. So the sales were dropped. His life is so hard in the early age, where he should enjoy his youth that the time. And when he turns 19 he created new product which are dried food and seaweed snacks called â€Å"Tae kae Noi† and that product brought him to the top! I think he got that idea when he ate dried seaweed from his girlfriend. His product became the best selling product and took over Chestnuts sales. And it grows faster when he entered it in 7-eleven. His business grows fast and he paid all the debt of his father and now the owner of a company. From an online gamer addict to a successful businessman and a billionaire and that is Ittipa! I am very amazed to this story of Ittipat. This will be a great inspiration to all new entrepreneurs around the world. He also proves the saying try and try until you find success. Before, he was  underestimated by his teachers and I’m sure that these people were very proud of him especially his parents that never thought of the thing that their son although is not committed to studies became a successful businessman. And lifted them up from their old life. Ittipa showed his industry and his great mind in reaching for his success with the help of the people around them especially God. Victory in life is sweeter because you worked hard of it But I think to my fellow teenagers like me, I advice to don’t forget studies for the simple enjoyment form playing computer games. We can be all like Ittipa, and we can find our own success in our own way. We know that if we do something to reach the dream, we just can’t give up that easily to reach that. If there’s a will there’s a way.

Why Did the Us Introduce Marshall Aid

Why did the US introduce Marshall Aid? The main reason why the US introduced Marshall Aid was to prevent the spread of Communism. In 1946 almost the whole of Eastern Europe was Communist, this was due to the actions of Stalin, he wanted to build up a line of countries around Russia and use them as a â€Å"buffer zone† to protect the USSR from being attacked. Britain had troops in Greece and was fighting a Civil War against the Communists in fear that it too would fall under Stalin's Communist rule. The USA stepped in when the British announced that they could no longer afford to keep their troops in Greece, Truman feared that the whole of Eastern Europe would become Communist (the idea of Communism was very popular in times of hardship, the communists believed that the wealth of the richest people should be shared out among the poor) so he agreed to pay for military supplies, weapons, economic aid and British troops to be sent to Greece and Turkey. The USA's aid soon became know n as The Truman Doctrine. This was the idea that communism should not be allowed to grow and gain territory, and that it was America's ‘duty' to fight for liberty. It was agreed that they would send resources to any Government that was threatened by communism. The Truman Doctrine was significant as it divided the world, showing that Capitalism and Communism were in opposition, which suggested that the East and the West could no longer co-operate.This emphasised the many difference between them. The Marshall Plan started the Truman Doctrine in June 1947, when it was announced that $17 billion should be given to Europe to help rebuild their inefficient economy and prevent the spread of communism. For the USA, Marshall Aid was introduced to make the idea of Capitalism appear more appealing, it was also introduced to try and prevent communism spreading. This now highlights how terrified they were of Communism and to what extent they would go to prevent it influencing the whole of E urope. For the countries in Europe that received aid through the Marshall Plan it was seen as a way of rebuilding their economies and preventing communism in their own country.

Roughly 13,000 American children have type1diabetes every year. Type1diabetes produce small amount insulin, usually found in children. Even with Type1 diabetes, children can play physical sports alone with other children. These actives can help lower blood glucose levels, and helps the cells in he or she body to use the insulin. Type2 diabetes is more common found in adults. The cells chose to disregard the insulin in the cells in the body fail to obtain the energy they need. Individual body stores insulin in the pancreas when he or she eat and release the insulin to transfer the food into energy needed for daily use. Too much glucose can be harmful to the body it tends to build up in different parts of the body like the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and the heart. When these symptoms go unnoticed for long periods of times, it could cause a massive amount of damage to his or vital organs. Research finds individual with type2 diabetes are in jeopardy of heart disease and stroke when his or her blood sugar levels are not controlled with the right amount of medication (Adams, n.d). Type2 diabetes can be manageable with the right diet, physical activity, and medication. There are several types of medications that will help, and some will have an unusual side effect. Learning how to monitor his or her glucose level can help maintain this disease. By maintaining glucose levels causes an individual to decrease the risk of complications. Maintaining the levels will allow him or her to make healthier decision as for as their food intake, medication, and exercise. Monitoring their levels, allows him or her to become conscious of a pattern of what is a normal or abnormal blood sugar. This prevents the individual from going into a hypoglycemia attack. Once a pattern has been established allows a person to learn his or her body, and the symptoms when his or her levels are beginning to drop. Individuals able to gather this information enables them to discuss their observance with his or her health care provider, for him or her to determine the right amount of dose of insulin. Excess glucose drives vessels to become thicker and less elastics. When blood vessels in the back of the eye balloons out into pouches, it is showing some sort of eye disease. When this happens it can lead to blood vessels leaking and can block him or her vision. Excess glucose can happen throughout the body. Kidney disease occurs, once blood vessels in the kidney become spongy and release blood. Blood leaking in the kidney from the vessels, inaugurate, and allow protein from the blood to be excreting to urine. When this happens if not kept under control it will lead to kidney failure. Damage blood vessels become a blockage that causes heart attacks; the blockage slows and restricts blood circulation to the legs. Amputation of a limb becomes necessary if an injury to legs or feet goes untreated. Bruising of blood tissue in those areas are risky. In conclusion diabetes can be controlled with the proper health care, exercise, and physical activities. People’s actions can prevent or slow the complications of diabetes. Over time, he or she actions can setback those future complications if this disease is not taken seriously, or not taking medication properly. Monitoring his or her blood glucose levels determine if the individual treatment is working or if the physician needs to change medications. Bibliography Adams, A. (n.d.). Genetic Health. SALEM Manufacturing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

SALEM Manufacturing - Essay Example Since Salem is expecting a minimum acceptable margin sale price of 1,500,000 dollars and if the expected exchange rate of $1.56 per British pound goes below $1.50 per British pound, this would end up in a loss on Salem’s side which is not desirable and moreover such a hedge can increase the tax burden too. The option of Money marketing hedge would also prove us wrong for the same reason as explained above. By locking the British pound transaction in dollars, the company can also suffer losses as dollar value goes down per British pound. The Options marketing hedge will do no better than the previous strategies when the results are considered. Offsetting the British pounds and waiting for the price to be favorable would be risky in this scenario. So the best option among those we have is to remain Unhedged. This is considered to be the best strategy as in this method Salem’s exposed amount of $1,500,000 is subjected to the movements of the relevant exchange rate. In seve ral cases of this kind, the unhedged strategy has worked better to the hedge strategies yielding safe results. The hedge strategies usually work with special cases that come with biased conditions.
